What is a Side Stream Filtration System
Unlike other filters, a side stream filter continuously removes particles to keep the water in the cooling tower system clean. It does this by drawing water from the sump, and filters out the unwanted matters.
The filtered water is then returned to the tower basin. This ensures proper functioning and efficiency of a cooling tower.

Removal of suspended solids helps corrosion and
scaling inhibitor chemical to be formed on a cleaner
surface by creating a protective film that reduces
corrosion rate and scaling, thus increasing the
lifespan of the cooling tower.
Greneco’s side stream filtration system includes turbulator nozzles that are utilised to removesuspending solids from the cooling tower basin. It is directed towards the sump, where the filter inlet is.
This nozzle jet system is a cost-effective method for preventing build-up of contaminants in the basins, sumps and condenser tubes. This high-capacity filter removes solids — leaving the water clean and reducing fouling of heat exchangers, and thus helps to maintain chiller thermal efficiency.
It uses the Venturi Principle to create a negative pressure region at the nozzle outlet and thereby induces ambient discharge water.
